About Tim Catalano

Tim was a highly recruited distance runner out of high school who went on to run varsity Track and Cross Country for the storied University of Colorado athletic program.  While there he helped the team earn 4th and 2nd place finishes nationally.  These experiences had a trans-formative influence on his life that sparked a life long interest in the power of experience in shaping the individual.

He earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology in 1995 and added a Masters Degree in Instruction and Curriculum from the school’s Department of Education in 1997.  He went on to teach Psychology in high schools in three different countries (USA, Honduras, and UAE) during his 11 year teaching career.

While teaching he became heavily involved in high school athletics and activities.  He was a head Track and Cross Country coach for 10 years in three countries as well as being increasingly involved in Student Council and sponsoring two different life improvement clubs for teens.

In 2007 Tim graduated from the Principals Training Center with a certification in international school administration.

His experience in high school activities led to him being recruited by the 1500 room Atlantis Hotel in Dubai as their Director of Guest Activities.  While there, he gained valuable experience in the corporate world as a hotel executive, and became increasingly interested in hiring practices and how well schools were doing in preparing graduates for careers and life beyond high school.

With a lifetime of involvement and interest in the trans-formative influence of athletics and activities in his own life, and the lives of his students, Tim has developed a passion to help schools better prepare their graduates for the world that awaits them beyond secondary education.
